Muses are nine inspirational goddesses, who symbolize literature, science and arts in Greek Mythology. They are daughters of Zeus and Titaness Mnemosyne, goddess of memory.
Thalia means “flourishing” from Ancient Greek: θάλλειν, thállein because the praises in her songs flourish through time. She is portrayed holding a comic mask in her hand and a shepherd’s staff. Many of her statues also hold a bugle and a trumpet, both used to support the actors’ voices in ancient comedy.
